According to the release note, the three tracks that make up this release have been originally created in the late 1990s by an industrial duo, but never saw the light (or if they did, they did not receive a lot of attention) because the main authors gave priority to other projects. Today, one of the original creators has revived the project, re-releasing the songs after giving them a freshen-up. So let's buckle up and let's drive our time-travelling delorean back to the 90s.
Overall, the tracks are incredibly catchy, the melodies are simple and effective, and the production, while being harsh and definitely worth of the "noise" label, is strangely soothing. Basically, this EP sounds like the classic cartoonish representation of the angel and the demon sitting on someone's shoulders.
The first track is probably the heaviest, and the only one whith discernable lyrics. The vocal line is very nice, simple and hypnotic, perfectly balancing the heavily distorted instrumental and its obsessive riff.
The second track is very short, it might be almost considered an interlude, and it's probably the most experimental of the release, with the electronics taking the spotlight. The gain is still high for most of the time, and the distorted vocal samples give it a horror vibe, but again I find it strangely relaxing.
The final track is probably the softest (don't get me wrong, it's still in line with the rest of the EP, but with slightly cleaner sounds). I can't distinguish the words that are being sung, but it remains my favourite track, I can definitely picture it being played in some underground club while the dancefloor is invaded by green-haired dancers in leather catsuits (yes, that's a compliment).
Well, our short trip back to the 90s is finished, and I have enjoyed it a lot. It is not known if this is going to remain an isolated episode or if the author will put out more music under this name, but I believe that the second option would make many listeners happy.
