BUCK 75 is an autobiographic album, originated from the pen of the artist SevenQRTRS and brought to life with the collaboration with the producer 8-BZA. According to the album notes, the songs represent a picture of the last five years with all the struggles that the author has faced in this period of time, and of the positive aspects that helped them to get through said period with revovated strenght.
The songs are all similar in vibes, but there is plenty of musical variety to keep the listener tuned in. The bars are dropped whith consistently impressive flow by the titular MC and the featured guests alike. The beats are simple but extremely creative, adding colour and lo-fi feeling to the songs but without distracting from the lyrics.
The lyrics cover different topics, from social issues to mental health, from the decline of American civilisation to the uncontrollable spreading of fake news, always delivered with attitude and confidence, and they make the message accessible even for someone like myself, who seldom dabbles with this genre, especially when it's not in my native language. I personally found the second half of the album to be more interesting that the first ("Sleepless" and "Talking heads" are my favourite tracks, and they both come near the end), but I'd recommend to listen to the album as a whole, since the quality is overall very high.
