Yesterday was a pretty wild day for me. I was blown away by the interest after posting the site on Reddit and Bluesky. It's safe to say I was not expecting half as many requests for review as you guys actually posted, and that reassures me that the idea for this site was solid.
Since the site went live two days ago, there have been:
- 75 user sign ups
- 57 requests for review
- 20 reviews written, only eight of which were written by me
I plan on writing more today and for the foreseeable future, but it's nice to know that there are others who, out of pure desire to talk about unsigned music, have taken it upon themselves to review other people's music. For that I'm extremely grateful. So thank you Augugst03, 44SOUNDS, dXI, penelec-music, Muki, and annabanana, I've really enjoyed reading your work.
The one thing that I have found to be a bit of a drag, however, is that there's not a good place to talk to people about the site. The Reddit thread is good but that will eventually fall off the front page and I won't have a sense of how people feel about it.
For that reason I decided to set up a Discord server. It would be great to be able to talk to you directly about the site, what you like about it, what you don't like, etc., as well as just build a bit of a community around it. I also hope that it can generally help the site live a bit and become a place that people continue to check months and years from now.
