I have approached this album with genuine curiosity, since I don't recall having ever before listened to any music that had "furry" among its tags.
What I found is a lot of high energy tracks that made me move my head, induced many spontaneous air-guitar moments, and oddly made me want to take my workouts more seriously (I won't, but that trascends the sope of this review).
If I had to label the genre I would say that electro-rock is the one that I feel more fitting. There is a stron balance between the dynamic presence of the synths, always flashy and clear, the punchy drums, which drive the songs in the best synthwave fashion, and the occasional guitar work, which provides interesting riffs and texture.
A few songs also have vocals, provided by two guest singers, namely Philocyon and Maddie Cooper, whose performances blend organically with the instrumentals.
The vibe as we said is in general very upbeat, but there are also moments where the music slows down and becomes airy and atmospheric. It is hard to name any other artist thet this album reminds me of. There's a lot of punk disseminated in the guitar riffs, some phrases here and there that posses a bit of a Rush flavour (Moving Pictures period), there are some metal interludes (for example in the track Key) that might vaguely resemble a mixture of Master Boot Records and Carpenter Brut, and I also hear some Gacharic Spin from time to time.
So, a very eclectic album, with a strong identity and a pleasant energy.I don't see it going into heavy rotation in my listens, but I'm sure I'll come back to it from time to time.
