Flavigula has in a short time become a new favourite of mine. Listening to them is like putting on a pair of gloves, fitting like a glove, after having worn a lot of other gloves, not fitting like a glove. All fingers knitted neatly around my flesh sticks [plural].
Sometimes, the structure is simple, but the things that go tick under your floor boards are the extracurricular activity, the sounds in-between. Sometimes, the structure is more complex and the sounds kept simple, but there's always something going on, building atmosphere. Always something new trickling down through the cracks. Is this where you store your heart when not in use? No, this is where you hide it for expansion. The vibe is paranoid, mystical, blissful, soothing, urgent.
The language is still unknown, Pan-Slavic, Latin, English, even some occasional Spanish, or something completely new—wholly imagined during a walk in endless fields, yellow in every direction. A cock, a mouse, a smurf named John. A sudden pitched-up voice, speech reversed, vocals. Someone asks you where you wanna go, but you don't know, so they keep asking. A small stone looks up at you from within a bean. A piece of plastic is hiding in your salad.
Lyrics come in sparse bursts (with one exception), often with intent, a purpose. Instruments are either random items found nearby or played in totally unexpected ways, making them sound not like the instruments they are (or ain't). Maybe a synth, a vocoder, a microphone, an electric guitar. Doesn't really matter which, so long as it sounds good, which it does.

Footnotes:
- A table is indeed a most useful piece of furniture, maybe even more useful than any eponymously named organisation.
- While listening, I came to think of some "design philosophy" I seem to have adopted (mostly as a joke, but it seems to be working): "When in doubt, reverse it." \\ "Don't delete it, repeat it." \\ "When unable to choose, pick both."
- "Mensa" apparently means "table" in Latin. It also means "to menstruate" in informal Swedish (slang), but I think that is probably irrelevant in this context.
