la fleur de sa peau / armure dorée cover art

The moment we press play on "la fleur de sa peau", we get the impression of walking straight into the graveyard represented in the cover art, such is the perfect match between the visuals and the music. It is not surprising to verify that they are, in fact, products of the same crafty mind.

The soft droning sounds slowly set the scene for the ethereal voice that takes our hand and gently leads us through the peaceful cemetery. The atmosphere is oneiric, intangible, the synths caress your ears, now comforting now eerie.

The second track, "armure dorée", is slightly more dynamic, with heavily reverbered strings and a more incisive vocal line. The harmony gets more elaborated, but the hazy atmosphere is not broken, our walk in the graveyard is not finished, it simply took a different turn and now we are abandoning ourselves to our thoughts, in a short but intriguing stream of consiousness.

It is evident that this artist has a clear artistic vision, and she is not afraid of embracing it and sharing it with the listener. In its short duration, this release manages to concentrate a lot of different emotional shades, therefore I am curious to see where the artist's future explorations will lead us.

Comments

I like this quite a lot, especially the slightly fuzzy saturated ambient textures on the first track
