I should start by noting that I am familiar with the work of BIT CLOUDY, so I'm not coming to this review blind. BIT CLOUDY has a deep back catalog of works that cover the electronic music genre, and he has a number of fantastic albums that I am a fan of!
This album, in that it's an entirely ambient affair, is thus not entirely representative of BIT CLOUDY, although he has plenty of ambient bits in his other releases. That's not in any way to say that it's not good (it's actually amazing!) but just to caution a listener who may be coming to this artist without any context to not think his entire catalog sounds like this album.
I'd also like to flag the artist's description of this work: "a new half hour piece originally produced for eight speakers that was commissioned to contribute to accompany a laser and sound installation among some trees at the Krankenhaus Festival 2026...Different passages used the speaker setup differently, sometimes I had sounds pinging rapidly around the space, at other times the shift was more gradual, and additionally the effect would be very different depending on the listeners physical position within the installation."
So listening to this through two speakers/headphones, as most of us have, puts one at a bit of a disadvantage. Every time I listen I am jealous of not being able to experience this as BIT CLOUDY must have intended, it must have been an incredible listening experience! That is not to say it doesn't translate well to a more 'normal' listening experience, as it absolutely does!
In conclusion, this is a wonderful two track ambient electronic piece of real beauty, and is entirely worthy of the time you'll spend listening. Highly recommended, as well as a further recommendation to dive into BIT CLOUDY's other music, there's tons of good stuff to be found there as well!
