The track we are listening to today seems to be a single for un upcoming release, but there is not a lot of information in that sense so I might be wrong. We press play and the song opens with a choir that is soon joined by the lead vocals. The voices are dynamic, with a lot of call and response between the lead and the choir, and they transmit passion and intensity, never overdoing their lines but always keeping the energy up.
The instrumental parts are essential, making it clear that the voices are the protagonists, and they play their supporting role effectively. The percussion loops add a touch of modernity to the song, creating an interesting contrast with the rest of the sounds. The other instruments stay in the background, embellishing and embroiding the track here and there, always tasteful and never invasive. I personally would have enjoyed a bit of variety on this side, as it gets slightly repetitive even considering the short duration of the song, but as we said, it's the vocal that get the spotlight.
It is clear even before pressing the "play" button that the message of the song is religious, which explains also why the attention is focused on the lyrics, which are delivered with convinction and elegance.
I understand that religious music is not everyone's cup of tea, and I have to admit that I am not consumer of this genre myself (unless you count Cthulhu themed songs), but if you want to hear a smooth vocal performance and you don't mind minimalistic arrangements, give it a shot.
