LONE AVOID SLOWLY DELETED cover art

Synaesthesia: according to the Cambridge Dictionary, this words describes the condition in which a person experiences things through their senses in an unusual way, for example percieving a particular taste as green. In my mother language we also use the word to indicate a figure of speech where we pair together two words belonging to different sensory spheres (e.g., the expression "warm colours" falls into this category).

Well, the album we are analysing today was very close to a synaesthetic experience. The sounds that come out of the headphones are not just sounds, they are pigments that paint vivid images on a sonic canva, they have substance and texture, they have a temperature, a weight, a smell...

Some tracks, such as the opener "A FLOOD OF OLD MEMORIES" sound like a peaceful in the Alps, when you're hiking through in the summer and the sun is breaking from behind the peaks, but then if we take for example "STATIONS COLLAPSE: SKELETONS", all of a sudden is winter, and the snow is gently falling on our skins with its cold caress. Others have a more menacing undertone, with metallic percussions and rumbling basses that seem to announce an incoming storm. There are some intense moments where the strings (bowed and plucked), tell stories of mystery, anguish, fearful anticipation, such as in the beatiful "STATIONS COLLAPSE: SEEING IN A FLORESCENT BLUR".

I could go on for hours, but my advice is to go experience it for yourself, and let the notes guide you through your own journey. You won't be disappointed.
