Very claustrophobic and surprisingly dynamic.
A great listen. The album explores a lot of multi-layered textures with a very good combination of granular synthesis and reverb.
The production gives everything an enclosed feeling, as if you were experiencing it inside of a warehouse or moving through a gritty industrialized environment, it almost feels like an urban exploration. In the artist bio, it mentions how it's a project that "Explores sonic aesthetics inspired by living between Lebanon and The Netherlands." And that description is definitely fitting to the overall sonic identity, in my opinion.
Almost every track is packed with small textural details and the dense textures also leave enough room for the beats, synths, percussion and drum machines to coexist and fade without ever feeling overcrowded in the mix. It's definitely hard to categorize. I hear elements of industrial techno and post-industrial music, but it never feels completely tied to either.
Some of the ambience pieces sometimes feel like they drag on for too long, but the constant fade in and out of new elements keeps the project feeling fresh, despite the loss in momentum. I would've liked to hear more of that rhythmic experimentation pushed further.
If i had to choose a favorite track, it would be "Bin Here Before". While the first track definitely gives you a solid idea of what the project is trying to do, the second one pumps that to 100 and really presents you with this awesome clash of claustrophobic soundscapes and sudden, unorthodox rhythms. A small detail i liked (That i could be completely wrong about) is the possible use of 99sounds's "Digital Malfunctions" sound library, if you did, that's good taste, it's a great library.
