no permanence cover art

The eclectic artist Lacuna Moth is back with a new release. This "no permanence" is a very short album (5 tracks for less than 10 minutes of total runtime), but do not let those stats fool you, there is a lot going on here!

The songs (which according to the author cover the themes of love, shame, uncertainty, and the respective overlaps) are characterised by a quite aggressive attitude, in some ay even harsher compared to what we had seen in other works such as "Praya Dubia/Severed" (other release featured on these pages). The guitar unleashes some tasty riffs that follow unpredictable trajectories like a chased octopus. The layers of drum machines and dystopian synths create a cybernetic landscape that really fleshes out the anguish and distress portrayed in the lyrics.

The vocals are as always heavily modified with effects. They sound like they come from the crackling speakers of an abandoned facility, eerie and with a pinch of "out of tune nursery rhyme sung by creepy kids in a horror film" vibe.

A short and adrenalinic trip with a surprising beam of hope (?) in the end. Lacuna Moth always manages to move something in my heart through the words and the music in equal measure, but I will let the reader to find their own interpretation of the lyrics. Which means that now you have to go listen to it. I said NOW! WHat are you waiting for?
