"Everybody wanna do they shit, and this is the shit I do", d3la.HOZ states. I'm glad they do, because I quite like this brand of funky future music. I'd already reviewed The STAR U'll never B (xtended)(2025) a week or so ago and I enjoyed it for the most part, even if I found it slightly befuddling.
This track is better, in my opinion. It's still got that I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude to it, but it feels more cohesive to me. The song is driven by this ever present beat (that's constantly moving from speaker to speaker), and guitar chord that only dips out to give the floor to some kind of intergalactic overlord who gives a speech about funky looking men with their buttocks exposed and video game controllers where their teeth should be. Honestly I don't know what any of it's on about but it's pretty dope regardless.
You can't really make out the lyrics easily, but they're fun to read anyway. A kinda trippy surrealism that only make a quarter sense, but feel completely in-keeping with the music with its woozy synths and slick guitar stabs. Sometimes mumbled, sometimes pitch shifted, and always exactly correct for the song.
So yeah, everybody wanna do they shit and I'm glad that this is the shit that d3la.HOZ wanna do because it's rad as hell, and I'm not sure anyone else is doing it.
