How do you make a song that carries anti-AI messages without relying on lyrics? You make something that sounds human. You insert dissonance, irregularities, bizarre choices that the machine would never make, too busy gluing together things that mathematically work toghether, not taking risks.
D3la.HOZ does exactly this. The intro of this track opens with these jazzy phrases and chords that are seasoned with dissonant elements, almost unpleasant at start but they capture the attention for the first main section. Here we find a more conventional electro-funk backing track above which we can enjoy a beautiful synth "solo". the quotation marks are due to the fact that the solo doesn't take the spotlight but remains in the shadows, barely perceptible, and this attitude makes it sound more enigmatic and mysterious. We have then a second main section where the sounds get more dilated, elegatnly chaotic, with many overlapping lines creating a delightful mess that evolves in a very creative guitar solo. Once again the solo is very human, it's willingly sloppy and it aims at the sonic clashes, because when a machine can create the perfect melodies, the most harmonically fitting structures, our strenght is in the wild, untamed, and rule-breaking side of our creativity. The end of the song reprises the initial theme.
This track might not be for everybody. After all there's a reason while "dissonance" is considered a negative term more often then not. But I'm sure that maNOAIfest will definitely find appreciation from many curious minds.
